Students from Cardiff University's M.Sc. in Sustainable Building Conservation spent the day studying the landscape around Llysdinam.

They visited both the Victorian walled gardens and the earthworks at Pen-llys (thought to have been a medieval courtroom) to get a sense of a landscape conserved by a continuity of use.

Becky Keeble-Payne, Head Gardener at Llysdinam, gave a tour of the walled garden discussing how the hothouses and vegetable plots have been adapted to modern conditions.

Dr. Oriel Prizeman, Course Leader considered how successive generations of farming have both shaped the  landscape and preserved its historic features such as on Pen-llys hill.
